| Data type | Rule |
|---|---|
| Trialight analyses, scores, and compiled database | Internal business use and your own work product are allowed; resale and competing datasets are not |
| Public-domain or CC0 facts | Reuse is generally allowed; courtesy credit is recommended |
| Openly licensed data | Follow the source licence, including any credit or share-alike duties |
| Retrieved Content | The linked source's terms and Section 3 apply |
1. What you may do
You may use our analyses, scores, and compiled database for your own internal business or professional work, publish your own findings and aggregate statistics, and keep derived work. Section 4 of the Platform Services Agreement lists what you must not do.
2. What you must do
When passing on open data, follow the official source licence. Keep any required source, licence, disclaimer, and modification notice. Apply share-alike duties and no extra restrictions.
The source shown beside a value tells you which row below to use. Follow the official licence linked in that row. The official source licence controls.
3. Retrieved Content
Some features fetch material from a source you describe. We do not vet it or grant rights in it.
Check the source terms before using Retrieved Content.
4. Source and credit guide
We turn source material into structured facts. Trialight keeps required source and licence notices with the data we provide. If you republish source material, you are responsible for applying its current licence to your use.
| Sources | Official licence or terms | What to do when republishing |
|---|---|---|
| ClinicalTrials.gov; RxNorm; DailyMed; PubChem; PubChem BioAssay; FDA GSRS/UNII; openFDA; FDA medicine and drug lists; SEC EDGAR; PubMed; MeSH | United States public domain | Name the source. National Library of Medicine material should say "Courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine", include a currency note, and not imply endorsement. Orange Book material should say "Contains information from the FDA Orange Book" |
| HGNC; Reactome; ClinGen; Human Disease Ontology; Wikidata; GLEIF; Open Targets Platform; NIH iCite | CC0 1.0 | Credit is generally optional but recommended. Name the source. HGNC also requests its Seal et al. 2023 citation |
| ISRCTN; EU trial registers; DRKS from 2025; Google Patents Public Data; Mondo; Orphanet; Eurostat; UKB-PPP; European Commission Community Register; Gene Ontology; STRING; UniProt; GTEx; Human Protein Atlas | CC BY 4.0 | Name the source, link the licence, and say what changed. Keep any citation, version, release-date, or access-date instruction supplied by the source |
| ChEMBL; DrugCentral | CC BY-SA 3.0 or CC BY-SA 4.0 as shown with the value | Name the source, link the licence, say what changed, and apply the relevant share-alike terms |
| Guide to Pharmacology | ODbL 1.0 for the database and CC BY-SA 4.0 for contents | Name Guide to Pharmacology and its primary publication. Keep both notices. Publicly reused database material may need the same licence |
| Experimental Factor Ontology | Apache 2.0 | Name EFO and keep its NOTICE file or notice text |
| European Medicines Agency; Ensembl; UniChem; FinnGen R12; eQTLGen | Source-specific terms or citation request | Follow the source shown with the value. Keep the European Medicines Agency, Ensembl, UniChem, FinnGen, or eQTLGen credit or citation supplied there |
| Europe PMC | The licence attached to each article | Follow that article's licence. Trialight provides structured facts rather than rights in the article text |
| CTRI; ChiCTR; CRIS; company investor-relations pages and press releases | Facts from the named source | Name the registry or company as the primary source. Do not copy protected presentation or text merely because a fact is public |
Share-alike covers its fields, not our separate analyses. Open Database Licence reports need a source and licence notice; redistributed data may need the same licence.
If a source, licence, or credit is missing or wrong, email support@trialight.com.
